Is the world real?

To be real , something must be true, and to be true it must always be true. In other words it cannot be true today, and false tomorrow. Continuity is required for something to be true.

According to Hinduism, Truth is defined as "unchangeable", "that which has no distortion", "that which is beyond distinctions of time, space, and person".

It means that whatever change with time, cannot be true, and therefore must be false. For example, newspapers deal with facts, not truth. Since everything we perceive is dependent on time, according to the definition of truth, it must be false.

But there is another interesting aspect hidden in this question: can the world exist without someone proving its own existence? Of course not. The observer (the person) and the observed (the world), both appear and disappear together. In other words, for the world to exist, there must be first someone to whom it appears. Otherwise who can confirm that the world exist in the first place?

As we dig more into it, we come back to our own perception of the world. In other words, the word is subjective, not objective as it seems. As unbelievable as it may sound, the world, including space, and time, is just a mental projection when it comes to reality. It follows that the person itself must be unreal, or a product of imagination. (sorry Albert, you are still a genius, but only in relative terms)

This imaginary world, is called Maya (illusion) in Indian culture, and it's like a dream. To wake up from the dream, we need to go beyond the creator of the dream; our mind.

When we dream, we are absolutely sure that our dream is real until we wake up. Like in a dream, this world appears absolutely real, until we wake up from it. Waking up from the illusion of this world is called liberation, or self-realization, quite often a misconception in western culture.

There is however a value in this world which is real: love.
Love is timeless and therefore invincible, the whole universe is an expression of it.
